When You Come Back Down....

So another uneventful week.

I've got that Pink Floyd song, Wish You Were Here stuck in my head and I've been listening to it nonstop for a few days.

Got a 95 on my second 5 page literature paper so that made me happy. I turned in my 10 page Abraham Lincoln research paper and i feel pretty good about that one. Two more papers due in lit class and i'm home free.

The Denver Broncos suck it hard and suck it long.

80's on the radio remind me of you...she's got the look
what in the world could turn a brown-eyed girl blue?

Called home, talked to Chari, things are good. Talked to Papa for like a half hour, it was good to talk to him.

It actually got below 30 degrees the other day, needless to say it was cold.

I finally watched the movie Saw on Wednesday...oh man that was an incredible movie! We have a hajji copy of Saw II but i'm gonna wait until it comes out on dvd.

My boss is leaving early next week so I'll become the intelligence chief for a few weeks. I'm excited to be the boss lol watch out cause this guy's gonna run amok with authority!!

I went through some super old emails from like '03, I'm an email packrat. Most of them were from D, Red, and Elf. It's amazing how much has changed or more importantly how much other people have changed.

It made me realize that you really did used to be a different person, just in the tone of the emails. I miss that part...a lot....

Life's good, I can't complain about much. Since getting online at the net cafe I talk to a few old friends which totally makes my day. I'm drawing ever closer to rejoining my old unit up north and so that should be a fun time as well.

Ait that's all I got.

A memory can't be erased..I know because I've tried...When you come back down..if you land on your feet..i hope you find a way to make it back to me..when you come around..i'll be there for you..don't have to be alone with what you're going through.

I wanna say some junk but I vouched against it. It's better left unsaid anyhow.

Everything's going good.

Hope to talk to ya soon. I've been logging into my yahoo everytime I'm online now...so...hoping to catch you one of these years :)

its funny you should mention that..i was also thinking about how i've left so many thing unsaid in the last 8 years and its amazing how much i've fucked up because of it. Interesting that we don't share that sentiment. I absolutely disagree with things better left unsaid but thats just this guys opinion.

i wish you'd say whatever it is you were thinking, but you're just as stubborn as me so i know i won't be able to make you.

I only get on every other day and at around 1230am your time

lol...I didn't necessarily mean better left unsaid forever, just not on lj.

but some things are better left unsaid. I think I'd fuck everyone up if I said what's on my mind all the time.

So, you're an 02XX? I'll be in TQ in Feb. Who do I talk to about my blog? With whom do I register?

I'm an 0231. Getting here in February, that's when this unit is leaving, wonder if you are part of our replacement(268). that would be slightly funny.

What do you mean by who do you talk to about the blog? I've been using Livejournal since I joined the Marine Corps. You just sign up on this site and customize everything. My journal isn't much of a blog, I use it mostly to let my friends know what's going on. Pretty much everything I do at work can't be posted online so for me having a blog would be useless.

I don't use livejournal, but I do have a blog.

What I mean is this: Military blogs must be registered with proper military authorities by order of MNF command. Or are you ignoring that? You don't seem to be violating OpSec my any measure, so no criticism.

yea i've never read anything per the MNF general orders or anything about blogs. I wasn't aware you had to register it so I'm not technically ignoring it.
I would stop my livejournal before i registered it. I rarely write about anything military related and when I do its at least a week later, so OpSec is always on my mind.

No criticism taken, but I feel that it would be way too "big brother" to expect me to register to some higher military authority. Do you know the MNF order specifically? I'd like to read it actually.

Here's the thing: I found your blog by searching a registry on Military.com. I was searching for blogs based out of TQ so that could get some inside gouge. Did you register it there? If not, somebody did.

Here's the link: http://milblogging.com/listingDetail.php?id=745

By the way, I'm a 1stLt. I'll withhold my unit and MOS so we can leave rank out of the blogosphere for a moment. I am really curious about blogging from TQ, however. Tell me, how does it work?

I found out about milblogging.com when my lj got mentioned in a washington post article, i didn't register it there though.

Is that your way of telling me I don't have to call you Sir/Ma'am? haha

Seriously though, there is wireless on the camp near some of the tentcity, you might be able to buy into that depending on where you are living at. There are two internet cafes on base and one that you can pay for with no restrictions. I can reach livejournal off the computers at work but i'm not sure if your specific blog site is blocked or not.

I know of a few officers out here who maintain a blog, specifically a Major who uses his callsign as his blog name. I think there is less blogging from TQ because we're mostly air units.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. TQ is better than some FOBs from what i hear, but its not perfect either.
